I noticed these two kahawai on the shore just inside the mouth of the Wairau Diversion yesterday. Hopefully they weren't caught and killed by a whitebaiter to keep them away from the whitebait, but it does seem a bit of a coincidence, in a region so popular with whitebaiters.
